In 2026, more Pakistani women than ever are buying jewellery online instead of from traditional markets (Tariq Road, Anarkali, Khan Market) or boutiques. We surveyed 1,200 Hanaya customers across Karachi, Lahore, Islamabad, Rawalpindi and Faisalabad. Here's what they told us.
Reason 1 — Transparent pricing (52% of respondents)
The biggest single reason. In traditional markets, the price you're quoted depends on how the shopkeeper reads you (Pakistani vs foreign, married vs unmarried, casual vs urgent). Online stores list one price for everyone. No haggling, no hidden mark-up.
Reason 2 — Cash on Delivery removes payment risk (38%)
You pay only when the piece is in your hand. The courier (TCS, Leopards, M&P) is the trusted intermediary. Read why COD beats prepaid.
Reason 3 — Discreet packaging for intimates (31%)
For lingerie, bra, body shaper purchases, Pakistani women overwhelmingly prefer plain unmarked courier packaging over walking into a physical store. Hanaya ships all intimates in plain mailers — see our discreet shopping guide.
Reason 4 — 24/7 browsing fits busy schedules (28%)
Working women, students, mothers — physical store hours don't always fit. Online jewellery shopping happens at midnight after kids are asleep, during a Friday lunch break, or on a long bus ride home.
Reason 5 — Comparing options across brands at the same time (25%)
In a physical market, you walk shop-to-shop. Online, you have 20 tabs open at once. Pakistani women report this as the single biggest convenience.
Reason 6 — Real photos let you decide before buying (22%)
Quality online sellers use real studio photos. You see exactly what you'll receive. Markets show samples that may or may not be the actual piece. Full guide on spotting real vs stock photos.
Reason 7 — 7-day exchange policy (19%)
Most boutiques in Karachi and Lahore are "sale final". Online stores like Hanaya offer 7-day exchange on unused items — try at home with your outfit before committing.
Reason 8 — Delivery to smaller cities (16%)
For women in Faisalabad, Multan, Peshawar, Quetta, Sialkot, Hyderabad — premium jewellery selection in their own city is limited. Online + COD opens up Karachi/Lahore-level catalogue. See our Multan, Peshawar, Quetta guides.
Reason 9 — Real customer reviews (12%)
Star ratings + reviews show what real buyers think — something traditional markets can't offer.
Reason 10 — WhatsApp customer service (11%)
Online + WhatsApp combined is faster than visiting a physical shop. Ask, photograph, decide — without leaving home. Hanaya's WhatsApp: +92 370 390 4527.
What online shopping doesn't beat (yet)
- Trying on heavy bridal sets in person before nikah
- Negotiating large-volume family orders
- Custom commissioned pieces (gold-melt resize, etc.)
For everything else, Pakistani women in 2026 are choosing online — and Hanaya is increasingly their default.
